Lisa Friend started the Flute at age five with Renee Siebert of the New York Philharmonic. At sixteen she was awarded a Scholarship to study with flutist Julius Baker at his summer school in Connecticut, USA. At Seventeen she was awarded a flute Scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music where she was the recipient of numerous awards including the Martin Music Scholarship fund which enabled her to study with Alain Marion and Ida Ribera at the Paris Conservatoire.

As soloist Lisa has appeared with The Philharmonia Orchestra, The Liverpool Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonic, and toured throughout the UK and Spain. She has given live recitals for Classic FM and BBC Radio 3, and performed at Buckingham Palace for the Royal Family and The Britten Theatre with Sir George Solti. She has performed her own material for BBC television, Childline and was commissioned after signing a deal with Universal to write and perform a track for Steven Spielberg for his Shoah Foundation.

Lisa has recorded an arrangement for flute and Orchestra on Ennio Morricone's Once Upon A Time in America with The Prague Philharmonic for Silva Screen Records.

In 2003 Lisa formed the group 'Score'. It is a collaboration of her love for film music performing some of the greatest film scores and her own compositions. The group have had great recognition performing at venues such as St. Martin In the Field, St. James’s Piccadilly and St. Johns Smith Square.
