Roger Wright trained at 'Morley college/The Actors centre' in London England and at 'The Acting Corps' in Los Angeles USA.

Roger had much success internationally as a model. He did photo shoots for magazines/advertising campaigns and catalogues. Including shoots for music videos, TV commercials and he graced the catwalk in fashion shows in London, Milan, New York and Paris. As well as being with a top modelling agency in London Roger was also with top agencies in Milan, Paris , New York, Miami, Cape town and even Tel Aviv.
During his modelling career, Roger kept his dream of becoming a recording artist in sight, by singing daily and writing songs. He formed the pop group 'Fresh' with his brother Steven and began creating…
The 'Fresh' boys were asked to perform their songs on the 'Just Seventeen' Roadshow hosted by TV presenter Phillip Schofield. During the J17 tour they met Peter Powell (former radio one DJ) who introduced them to a recording artist manager Colin Lester. Roger and Steven Wright signed a recording contract with 'East West' records and released two singles 'Feel My Rhythm' and 'Did I say Tiamo' under the Magnet label.
Following 'Fresh' Roger went back into modelling, for a few years…
One day, his modelling agency called him to go to a casting for a TV commercial... When he arrived at the studio the receptionist sent him into the wrong room by mistake! In that room, a totally different audition was taking place. Paul Kerryson, (theatre director) and Julian Kelly (musical director) were auditioning for two musicals one of which was a musical called 'Hotstuff.' Roger apologised for walking in but joked with them and told them that he could sing, not thinking that they would take him seriously... To Roger's surprise they invited him to audition... His professional singing and acting career began that day! He landed the lead character in 'Hotstuff!' Roger played 'Joe Soap' at the Haymarket theatre in Leicester in his very first musical.
Roger went on to perform as the Jazz Legend 'Cab Calloway' in the West End musical, 'The Blues Brothers' which toured the UK and Germany for one year.
RW also had a taste of working on the film set when he worked on two films the James Bond movie, 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and the Sci fi movie 'The Fifth Element.'
In 1999, Roger was chosen out of literally thousands of hopefuls to play the role of the adult Simba in the original Disney cast of 'The Lion King' (after nine auditions). He played Simba in the West End smash hit musical for three and a half years at the Lyceum theatre in London directed by Julie Taymor.
Roger returned to the West end stage as 'Marvin Gaye' in the Motown musical 'Dancing in the Streets' at the Cambridge theatre in London. Prior to the West End opening of this production, he toured the UK with the same Company performing with the Motown Legend 'Martha Reeves' who was narrator and star of the show.
Roger played 'Simba' for a second time, this time at the Disney Resort in Paris in the show, 'The Legend of The Lion King' directed by Craig Revel Horwood.
In 2005/6 Roger Wright, Steven Wright and Shaun Escoffery formed a 'Motown style' vocal harmony group and signed a recording/ publishing contract with Relentless/EMI records. Although the group have since moved on from the 'Relentless' label they have written/recorded a great catologue of songs.
In 2009 Roger was the compere and principal singer in 'Thriller Live' West End…
In 2012 Roger was a finalist in the Andrew Lloyd Webber ITV show 'Superstar' he made it through to the live shows in which he finished in third position to play the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Roger has just written his very first show titled You can do it' which will show at the Leicester square theatre October 7th 2012
He is also releasing various songs available for download on iTunes and Roger will soon be recording a new album!
