Joseph combines a smooth sound, a sly wit and a repertoire encompassing “Gershwin to Arctic Monkeys via Monty Python” into a unique way of making every song his own.

Joseph trained classically, completing a Bachelor of Music degree at Birmingham-Southern College, teaching at Walton's New School of Music, recording with Ireland's Chamber Choir, and founding the award-winning Cantoiri choir. He then went on to perform on stage and television in Ireland, Europe, and Scandinavia and on ships around the world.

Now based in London, Joseph commutes regularly between England and Ireland, performing at Piano in Kensington and the Viperoom in Dublin, the city where he built his reputation as resident pianist at Number Five (at the Unicorn) and with his band, ‘The Burt Backer Act’ at Club Absinthe.
