Joe
Stilgoe is an accomplished pianist/ singer, specialising in every
type of music you could possibly think of. He has recently
returned from eight months at sea, performing on some of the most illustrious
ships on the water including the Disney Magic, Silver Whisper and Seven
Seas Voyager. On land he performs solo, as part of a jazz trio, a soul
band and with countless other projects. He has played and sung with Ian
Shaw, Herbie Flowers, Perfect Houseplants at venues including the Festival
Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and regularly at Southampton's Turner
Sims Concert Hall. During his time at University there he was one of the
most in demand musicians on the local scene. As leader of the Southampton
University Jazz Orchestra he took them to the 2002 Montreux Jazz Festival
where they were the only British band performing, and received rave reviews
on the BBC website.
He has a vast repertoire of music, with over 400
songs and more than 2000 instrumentals. He can deal with most requests,
and is often told he is 'too young to know that one'. He probably is,
but those rainy days were well spent
Joe has played in Bertorelli's, Smollensky's,
Claridges, Pitcher and Piano, Tickled Ivories and many other clubs and
bars. He has also played hundreds of private functions, where his knowledge
of songs from Elton John to the Village People to Cole Porter and even
English Hymns always provides a rollicking evening's entertainment.
