Bernie Watson

After working in local bands, Bernie Watson went "on the road" with a band called "Kim Davis And The Del 5", who toured with Roy Orbison and The Walker Brothers in 1966.

After a spell with the resident band in "La Dolce Vita", a nightclub in Newcastle, England, Bernie struck out on his own with a three month contract in Norway. One month in Tromso, one in Bergen and one in Oslo. It was so successful he was asked back again the following year.

In 1987 he was to appear on a Cruise Liner for six and a half months in the Mediterranean. This was followed by Spain (Puerto Banus) and Germany (Berlin).

Back to colder climes with a ferry from Stockholm to Turku (Finland), then another nearer to home - the ferry from Newcastle to Bergen. Woven through the last few has been his extremely succesful residency at the "Holiday Inn" in Newcastle for the last fifteen years where he has a loyal and dedicated audience who also come to see him working in "The Black And White Piano Band" in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria twice a year where he plays more sing-a-long songs and audience participation pieces.

Bernie is a versatile entertainer with an extensive repertoire ranging from Scott Joplin Rags through to the 30's, 40's, 50's Rock'n'Roll and 60's covering artists such as Fat's Waller, Fat's Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John, Billy Joel and Barry Manilow among others.
