BASIL HODGE

Basil Hodge

Basil Hodge is a young pianist-composer from Ilford, Essex who has been a regular fixture of the London jazz scene for over a decade. You can catch Hodge leading his trio and providing support for such musicians as Jim Mullen, Dave O'Higgins, Byron Wallen and Renato D'Aiello. He has studied with the likes of Tim Richards and went on to study at the Mannes College of Music in New York and at the prestigious Goldsmith's College in London.

He recently recorded his first album with great success and plays at The Savoy Hotel in the Strand on a regular basis.

He has been influenced by musicians such as the pianist McCoy Tyner and Horace Silver whose styles are clearly heard in his playing and compositions.
