About Peter...

An artist of remarkable versatility and insight who possesses a tone quality of great beauty and lyricism. His recent success as 4th prize winner in the Alexander Glazunov International Violin Competition in Paris confirms his place amongst the leading British violinists of his generation.

Much travelled and having studied with masters from three great schools of violin playing, Peter is in a unique position to capture the true spirit of virtually any western musical tradition. Studies under Franco Gulli, among others, at the Royal College Of Music, London, the Musikhochschule, Stuttgart and the Music School of Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, have enabled him to achieve a level of artistry which is now receiving increasing international recognition. Equally at home in the role of soloist, chamber musician and director, Peter established his own group, The Chamber Ensemble of London, consisting of hand-picked players from the leading London orchestras. He is a frequent guest with Dame Cleo Laine and John Dankworth who composed the piece 'Mariposas' for Peter's Wigmore Hall debut in 1996. Peter has performed on several occasions at Royal Gala Evenings at Windsor together with pianist Avril Dankworth.

Recent concerto performances include Bach and Mozart (Queen Elizabeth Hall, London), Glazunov (Turkey), Berg (Germany), Mendelssohn Double (Tour of Spain, Cyprus and Dubrovnik Festival, Croatia), Mendelssohn E-minor (London), Brahms (London) and Bruch Scottish Fantasy (Ipswich Corn Exchange). Recitals include Wigmore Hall, Wells Cathedral, Franz Liszt Kreiz Starnberg-Munich, West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge, Stables Theatre, Wavendon, Milton Keynes, Tour of Northern Italy, with pianists Michael Dussek, Nadia Lasserson and Alvin Moisey.

Peter has issued four CDs with London Concertante, including Vivaldi's "Four Seasons".
