NO STRINGS was formed by Adrian Dixon and Caron Pascoe after they met and worked together in the No.1 musical IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR.
Adrian's early start in music encompassed funk, folk, jazz and, his great love, boogie. His own 7-piece band, SUGARBEAT TRAFFIC was fronted by Ian Dury's regular singer, Ingrid Allman; he toured and played keyboards with BAD MANNERS and regularly appeared at the Edinburgh Festival with STAX BODENE. He also played at the London Jazz Festival. He wrote the original score for "I Frida" - the story of Frida Kahlo and is currently resident pianist at Jools Holland's premier venue The Jamhouse.
Caron worked in the West End in productions such as THE ROY ORBISON STORY, playing Patsy Cline, kd lang and Dusty Springfield to packed houses and Janis Joplin in KISS THE SKY. Her vocal dexterity led to a career in voiceovers for radio, television and animation. She was the voice of the Homebase television commercials for three years and is a regular singing hero and in Higglytown Heroes in the Playhouse Disney hit animation. She is Dame Judi Dench's 'M' in the 007 computer games.
For the past fourteen years NO STRINGS have been entertaining audiences in venues that range from pubs and clubs, hotels, golf clubs and conference centres for private functions, weddings and corporate events.
They pride themselves on their live sound, foregoing the manufactured sound of minidisc and pre-recorded backing tracks. Variety is the key to their success...from 60's soul and pop, ballads of the 70's and 80's right up to the 90's, 00's and teens and back again to the rock and roll of the 50's... they ensure there is something for everyone, whatever the age group. One venue, The BBC Club in West London, has booked NO STRINGS on numerous occasions for events that range from young TV presenters' parties to "golden handshake" farewells.
