About Mattias...
Mattias, multi-instrumentalist, plays the trombone and piano, but also keyboards, bass guitar, double bass, vocal (classical), trumpet, tuba, french-horn, bassoon, percussion; Djembe & Wolofdrums.
He began his career at the age of 11 playing trombone in a swing band, playing more and more piano and other instruments as the years went by. At age of 13 he played trombone in the Swedish Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra.
Aged 17 he joined a number of big bands comprising the finest musicians and accompanying many world class soloists. At the same time, he had begun his education at Malmö Academy of Music, where he graduated as a teacher of brass instruments, classical-trombonist, jazz-pianist and jazz-trombonist.
Has been since worked in a wide range of bands, performed classical & contemporary works at the Opera house in Malmö and other theaters, played for studio recording sessions, worked as a piano entertainer, bandleader, Big Band leader and musical director.
Since arriving in the UK Mattias divides his time between performing in jazz clubs and as a cocktail pianist.
