Larry has had over 25 years experience on first class cruise ships and five star hotels.
He trained at London’s Royal Academy of Music in jazz orchestration and film composition and his tutors included Thelonius Monk and Roy Budd. His career has taken him around the world on seven world cruises as well as appearances in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, Oman, United States and over 50 other countries.
He was warm up to Barry Manilow on the ‘Big Fun’ Tour in Osaka, Japan and has worked with such greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Jack Jones, Debbie Reynolds and Neil Sedaka.
Cruise ships include the world famous QEII, Cunard Princess, Sagafjord, Seabourn Sun, NCL Dreamward, Aurora, Oriana, Victoria, Adonia, Oceana and countless other ships. His band has appeared before the royal families of England, Japan, Oman and the ruling families of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He has performed for the mayors of New York, Boston and Philadelphia and his quintet played the engagement party hosted by the Duke of Devonshire for Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
More recently he has been concentrating on scoring music for film and writing a book, which is due to be published in 2005.
As a solo ‘lounge lizard’ as he likes to be known, his repertoire covers everything from the great songwriters Rogers & Hart and George Gershwin to modern day greats like Billy Joel and Sting. He is first and foremost a jazz piano/vocalist and he entertains the audience with his easygoing humorous chat and superb piano playing.
