Jason Ridgway studied in Salzburg, Paris and London at the Guildhall School of Music where he graduated with one of the highest honours in the history of the school and was awarded the Piano Prize. He has performed with many of the U.K.'s leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, the Philharmonia at St. John's Smith Square and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic at the Hope Concert Hall.

He has performed throughout the U.K. and the U.S. and highlights include the Weill Recital Hall, New York, Teatro Bellini, the Grossersaal Salzburg, Snape Maltings Aldeburgh, De Bartolo Performing Arts Centre Notre Dame, Purchase Performing Arts Centre, Meany Hall, Seattle, Wortham Center Houston.. In 2007 he made his BBC Radio 3 debut performing Chopin on In Tune, and has made numerous radio appearances, including a performance of Scarlatti in March 2016. In January 2010, he performed live on New York City's Soundcheck radio programme.

The Sunday Times described his playing as "scintillating and of the highest quality", and The Scotsman wrote "Ridgway's Chopin was truly captivating". His recent performances have been praised by the national press. "Ridgway played with rhythmic verve, vivid colour and 20 fingered bravura" (Financial Times) "Ridgway was a joy" (Evening Standard) "played with tremendously impressive command" (Arts Desk) "Ridgway's splendid rendering of Stravinsky, torrents and cascades..." (The Sunday Times) He was described as "true musician with his splendidly warm rendition of Mozart K.533" by the Telegraph. In March 2016, he received unanimous praise in the national press for his performances of Scarlatti and Chopin.

He has won prizes in competitions, including the Julius Isserlis Prize presented by the Royal Philharmonic Society and he was a piano finalist in the BBC Young Musician.
