About Ed...

Ed was born in 1989 and demonstrated a fervent love of all things piano related as soon as he could heave himself up onto the piano stool. Years of lessons have given him a grounding in classical music, but his overriding passion has always been improvisation. While studying music at Bristol University, Ed sought out other musicians who were interested in venturing outside the realms of classical music and started a successful rhythm & blues / swing band which he subsequently managed. They performed music by the likes of Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Al Green and Nina Simone.

Whilst wine bars, university balls and jumping crowds were kept entertained by his band, the clientele of Bristol's Browns restaurant were treated to Ed's own brand of upbeat and original 'lounge piano', as Ed played anything from Cole Porter to Michael Jackson to serenade diners and earn his living at the same time.

Having graduated from Bristol in 2011 and returned to his home city of London, Ed continues to sing and play in various restaurants and hotels around the capital, offering his own interpretations of classic standards while rebranding contemporary music by the likes of Oasis and the Coral. His love of music is evident in his performance, and as he adds more and more to his repertoire, the music continues to excite him as much as his audience.
