VIVA EXPRESSIA
Viva Expressia consists of violinists Olena Kharitonchuk
and Oksana Kalapska and pianist Nadia Potapova. Olena and Oksana have
been playing together for many years as members of the State Pop Symphony
Orchestra of Ukraine. Before teaming up with Nadia, they were also a part
of 'The Bridge Quartet' which has been performing since 1998 in Kiev and
throughout the Ukraine. At the same time, these talented violinists were
touring around Europe and USA as guest musicians with famous Ukrainian
classical groups and orchestras taking part in such famous ventures as
'The Music Of A. L. Webber' Festival held in the US in 2000.
When Olena and Oksana met Nadya, she was already
a winner of the First International Competition of young pianists in memory
of Vladimir Horowitz in 1995. Her exceptional skills and creativity inspired
them to form the romantic trio 'Expression' which was later renamed 'Viva
Expressia'.
The repertoire of this young and beautiful trio
covers various styles - from classical to jazz. In 2003, 'Viva
Expressia' recorded a CD, introducing their favourite and most popular
melodies. The trio has recently been involved in various concerts and
presentations held in Kiev and have performed a whole season for our
agency on the QE2.
