MARIA GARZON
She now lives in London where she combines her performances with some private teaching to talented students. Maria Garzon has performed in all sorts of venues. To name a few: Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Atheneum in Madrid, Atheneum in Athens, Carthage International Festival, Antalya´s International Festival, Istanbul, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Buxton Festival, Canary Islands International Festival and many more. She has recorded for BBC, RAI, RTVE, SWF, WDR and her recording of Spanish piano music was awarded the prize for best record of the year by the Bristish Retailers Association. She has discovered and recorded the piano concertos by J.L. Dussek for the Koch label. Other recordings for ASV include the complete piano music by Joaquin Rodrigo and the complete Nimrod Variations for piano by Edward Elgar which was commissioned by the Elgar Society in the UK. Maria Garzon has performed and given master classes in places as far as Uralsk in Kazakhstan and as near as the Royal Academy in London. Previous engagements include recitals at the Auditorio
in Tenerife, Aspen in the USA, a tour in spring 2004 in Sweden and two
successful
appearances at Wigmore hall, one in 2004 and the other in 2005. |
