LANGAN DUO

Maria Garzon The Langan Flute and Piano Duo was formed in 1995 whilst prize-winning players Clare Langan – flute - and Anna Tilbrook – piano - were studying at the Royal Academy of Music.

In 1995 Clare and Anna were appointed recitalists for the Fred Olsen Cruise Line and have travelled the world giving sell-out recitals. More recently they have worked for Cunard on QE2 and Caronia, in addition to giving recitals for the National Trust.

Together they have given concerts across the UK and have recently started working for The Council for Music in Hospitals and Lost Chord.

They recently released their first CD of popular Classics and a second, entitled ‘Vive La France’.

Clare Langan

Clare Langan was educated at the Purcell School where she won the concerto prize enabling her to make her debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank Centre. She continued her studies at Durham University and finally at the Royal Academy of Music on the Performers course where she won the prestigious flute prize.

Clare has had the privilege to perform at numerous high profile social engagements including several visits to Highgrove for HRH Prince Charles and for the late Cardinal Basil Hume at Westminster Cathedral.

Concerto work continues to form part of her busy schedule. She performed the Bach B minor Flute Suite with the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra in 2003 and in May 2004 Clare performed in Qatar for the Emir and his wife at the Qatar Foundation.

Anna Tilbrook

Anna Tilbrook read music at York University before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where she won all the major accompaniment prizes and was given a Fellowship from 1998-99.

In 2002 she was awarded the Royal Overseas League Society of Woman Musicians Prize for an outstanding woman musician.

Anna made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1999 and has since given recitals in all the major London concert venues and in festivals and prestigious recital halls throughout the UK and abroad. She has given a series of concerts with the internationally renowned Fitzwilliam Quartet and can regularly be heard on broadcasts by Radio 3.

Anna has worked with artists such as Barbara Bonney, Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Thomas Allen, Anthony Rolfe-Johnson, Ian Bostridge and is the regular duo partner of James Gilchrist. As well as accompanying, Anna is in demand as a repetiteur, continuo player, audition pianist and vocal coach, working for companies including The Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet, The Britten-Pears School and The London Symphony Orchestra.
