FRIDA BACKMAN
An outstanding new violinist from Finland, Frida Backman is young, energetic and has plenty of experience. She began her studies at the age of six and went on to study at the Lahti Music Conservatoire in Finland and then at the Trinity College Of Music in London. Frida has been taught in a wide range of musical styles, including classical violin by Ernst Kovcic and Sergei Krawchenko, jazz violin by Tim Kliphuis and chamber music with the Vellinger and Sorrel Quartets. Frida has toured all over the world playing solo, Chamber and Orchestral music in countries such as France, USA, China and Estonia often as a leader, and has also won a prize at the infamous Gladys Puttick competition (TCM) with improvisation. She can play in any style needed for any occasion with unparalleled musical tone and sensitivity.
