…not only does she belt out pop and jazz with the best of them, but her headline shows also combine her incredibly beautiful, yet powerful soprano voice with song writing, piano virtuosity, and – of course – her mesmerizing stage presence, which has earned her public comparisons to the greatest divas of our time.
A former Oxford graduate and West End leading lady, Philippa has been making her impression on the music world since she was still at school, becoming a principal soprano of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and the youngest soloist to sing with the internationally acclaimed Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Chorus. Even before graduating from Oxford, she was already recording and singing in some of the world’s finest venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, where she stepped up to sing a solo whilst still in her teens.
Philippa’s West End musical theatre career began with her starring in the title role of the £1.5 million show “Tess of the D’Urbervilles” at the Savoy Theatre, and was later chosen by Sir Cameron Mackintosh to play the role of Cosette in the record-breaking West End production of “Les Miserables”.
Her recent visit to the prestigious luxury liner - the Queen Mary 2 - saw her overwhelmingly rated as the best entertainer since Dame Shirley Bassey; scoring a higher rating from the passengers than the Opera Babes. She is gaining fans all over the world, who love her not only for her astounding musical talents, but also for her trademark flowing red hair and cheeky sense of humour. Her shows consistently bring full house standing ovations, and her albums continue to set new standards in CD sales onboard.
