The extraordinary Violin and Accordion duo Mazaika presents a brilliant show of classical and gypsy showpieces, folk music and tango interspersed with operatic arias and songs from around the world.

Sarah - Violin

Sarah Harrison studied the Violin with Erich Gruenberg at the Guildhall School in London where she found and led the Covent Garden String Quartet. Her versatility is astonishing; she has performed with Django Bates, worked with storytellers in Marrakech, acted and played in London theatre productions and with Opera Circus and even appeared with roving Mariachi bands in Mexico. Extensive travels in the USA, Mexico and throughout Europe enabled her to perfect many musical styles including Bluegrass, Huasteca, East European Gypsy and Argentinean Tango. With the formation of Mazaika she has also added singing, Banjo, and Balalaika to her formidable list of accomplishments.

Igor - Accordion

Igor Outkine studied Classical Accordion and traditional singing in his native Russia, where after his studies he performed extensively with top folk groups and as a musician and actor with the Rozovsky Theatre of Moscow. He moved to London in 1990 and since then he has been in constant demand in many fields of music including film and recording sessions, TV, concerts and tours with folklore groups and even an appearance at the MTV awards ceremony. He has given Classical Accordion recitals and his instrumental and vocal range encompasses the classical repertoire, jazz standards and pop.
