JANEIRO TRIO
The Janeiro trio consists of a talented classical guitarist, a much-travelled bassist and a top international percussionist. The result is a unique crossover of classical guitar and Latin jazz, inspired by South American composers such as Jobim, Almeida and Baden Powell. Performances can be tailored for any event, from background accompaniment for parties, dinners, weddings and corporate functions, to full concert performances. Mike Georgiades (Guitarist) Mike (centre) started playing guitar at the age of six and has progressed into a striking, accomplished performer of many different guitar styles, namely Classical, Romantic, Spanish and Flamenco, through to Latin Jazz, Rock and Pop. After winning several arts competitions, he gained a music scholarship with the Amersham & Wycombe Music Centre, and had reached the final for the regional Young Musician of the Year by the age of twelve. From this classical background, Mike went on to train at the University of Salford, gaining a degree in Popular Music and Recording. As a result, Mike possesses the vast diversity of repertoire needed to accommodate the many different forms of function work. Neil Raymond (Bassist) Neil (left) has a wealth of musical history, touring/writing with Australia's own 'Taxiride' (Warner Music) and 'CBD' (Sony Music), supporting artists such as Tina Arena, Mark Lizzote (Diesel) and Jimmy Barnes to name but a few. In London he plays with Ola Onabule, The Real People, Noel Mc Coy, and various sessions. 5-star Hotel residencies include Sheraton; Walker-Hill in Seoul South Korea; Grand Hyatt, Melbourne; Tateshina Private Resort in Nagano, Japan. Alan Pagan (Percussionist) Alan (right) is a top session percussionist with a diverse background, from working with Peter Kay in Manchester to performing at the Royal Albert Hall.
